BiographyAnna Antonova-Victoria Merkulyeva began playing together since 2005.At that time they were both studying at State Musical college of Biysk with Svetlana Antonova and Zinaida Lemeshko.
After winning the second prize and special prize from the famous piano duo Nora Novik and Raffi Kharadjanjan at the International Piano Duo competition "Brother and Sister" in S.-Petersburg (2007),Anna and Victoria began their concert activity. Other competition successes as a duo soon followed,in Vienna("ArtXX",3rd prize,Austria),San-Gemini("Citta di san-Gemini",1st prize,Italy),Rome ("Chopin Roma-2011",3 rd prize,Italy),Pistoia("Il Rospigliosi",1st prize,Italy) and etc.. Anna and Victoria`s international career led them to appear in famous venues like The White Hall of S.-Petersburg Philharmonic or Rachmaninoff hall of Moscow Conservatory.They performed in such capitals as Moscow,Vienna,Kiev,Rome,Thessaloniki,S.-Petersburg,Novosibirsk and etc. Currently living in Italy,they are studying at Conservatory "Santa -Cecilia" of Rome with Riccardo Marini and Conservatory"F.Morlacchi" of Perugia with Costantino Mastroprimiano. Their extensive repertory ranges from the baroque to the contemporary and includes numerous arrangements for two pianos by Russian and American composers. |
