BlogAbu Dhabi Government approves the AED37.3bn (.1bn) infrastructure and service projects at the Abu Dhabi Executive Council’s meeting The set of infrastructure project includes road and electricity networks, to water drainage and sewerage systems and housing complexes to be implemented this year. This year’s allocations include AED12.7bn (.4bn) for housing and social facilities, AED11.9bn (.2bn) for government management, AED3.1bn (3mn) for economic affairs, AED2.5bn (0mn) for health care projects and AED2.4bn (3mn) for the education sector. Services allotment includes AED17.5bn (.7bn) for the water and electricity sector and AED568mn (4mn) for food commodities. The council approved the construction of 348 housing units worth AED637.2mn (3mn) in Al Shuaiba and Al Shuwaib residential projects. This is in accordance of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to ensure that Emirati citizens shall enjoy a dignified and stable standard of living. Previously, the capital city government already approved initial projects worth AED330bn (.8bn). Other projects on the run are 112km-long road costing AED515mn (0mn) in Eastern Region of Abu Dhabi, and a AED237mn (.5mn), 20km-road in Mohammad Bin Zayed City.
