BlogThe fishing port of Essaouira is now benefiting from the extension work project to develop a new port infrastructure worth DH127.5 million.  Upgrades to the port of Essaouira, underway The project is part of the National Port Strategy for 2030. It also aims to meet the number of tourist coming to the. Hence, the port will have a larger area for facilities and safety equipment for fishing, in accordance with international standards, as well as those of the EU. According to an official of National Port Agency (ANP), the scope of work entails the widening the center of the port for 2 hectares, the construction of a fish discharging quay, building a lift for boats, construction of breakwater of Sekkala, dredging and rock quarrying of the harbor basin and the installation of suspended jetties.
