BlogWorld Water Day is marked on 22 March every year by the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in 1992 The first World Water Day was officially celebrated on the 22 March 1993. The day is observed to fetch attention to the need of conserving safe drinking water as well as looking for solutions to provide safe drinking water to people around the world. Each year World Water Day highlights a specific aspect of freshwater. This year’s theme for WWD is to provide an important opportunity to consolidate and build upon the previous World Water Days to highlight water's role in the sustainable development agenda.
