Abu Dhabi’s first Solar-powered car built by the Petroleum Institute students is currently displayed in Yas Mall for public viewing.

The country’s very own solar car came from a project launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces who was inspired by a solar car displayed when he attended the World Future Energy Summit in 2013.

The Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed (MBZ) highway in Ras Al Khaimah will see additional roads in each direction from the Etihad roundabout.

The two-lane stretch measuring 6 kilometer long is considered the only two-lane stretch on the road that extends from RAK to Abu Dhabi and is expected to alleviate the heavy traffic flow the road receives every day.

The first phase of the Smart Civil Defense Stations project in Abu Dhabi has been commenced by General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

During the ceremony held at the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence General Directorate’s Operations Room at the Qubeisat Civil Defence Station, Sheikh Saif evaluated and studied the project’s main purposes, which are meant to buoy up and enhance civil defence teams’ performance and attain efficient emergency responses in the shortest possible time possible. The structures will also guarantee appropriate arrival at the incident location
