Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has launched the phase two of Dubai Healthcare City expansion project.

Through the project, the Healthcare City will be enlarged by 22 million square feet and around AED3-5 billion or .36 billion will be outlaid for its realization.

An estimate of 20 million passengers will arrive at Dubai’s future mega airport hub, Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Central in 2020.

The government of Dubai already spent billion or Dh117.5 billion for the expansion of DWC due to the brisk growth of home carrier Emirates. The upsurge in passenger traffic at Dubai International is said to be the reason why the airlines and passenger traffic will be sent to the second airport of Dubai. Emirates is scheduled to move to DWC in 2023.

The tender for the enabling works of the Al Khail Avenue Mall at Jumeirah Village Triangle has been launched by its Dubai based developer.

The mall which spreads at 3.6 million square foot is expected to open in 2018 and the tender includes the repositioning of the existing infrastructure services at the project site, excavation and shoring works for the mall.

Dubai’s non-oil foreign trade achieved a stable progress in 2014, increasing to Dh1.331 trillion from Dh1.329 trillion in 2013. Out of the total trade, imports had the biggest share with a value of Dh845 billion as exports and re-exports to the emirate arrived Dh114 billion and Dh372 billion correspondingly.

Statistics released by Dubai Customs show that direct trade contributed Dh818.8 billion of Dubai’s total foreign trade value, whereas free zones trade corresponded to Dh 488.7 billion and the customs warehouses Dh23.8 billion.
